This website is dedicated to all issues connected with open source SCADA systems. With Linux being the best known open source OS, we use this word in the domain name, but we would not like to find ourselves limited to Linux. Likewise, we do not want a limitation strictly on SCADA, but we will include open source PLC programming, and open standard communication protocols. As is common practice, "open source" means GPL or similar license, and "open standard" means that the standard can be used by anybody, anytime, royalty-free and non-exclusive, although it may be copyrighted (for example, by LinuxSCADA).
